A high-level dialogue on urgent efforts by leading non-governmental organizations to sustain a global, multinational dialogue and cooperation amid the COVID-19 pandemic will take place on 30 August.

Hosted by The Foundation Dialogue for Peace and moderated by Norway’s former prime minister Kjell Magne Bondevik, the World Council of Churches (WCC), Muslim World League, World Health Organization and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies will share experiences with ministers, ambassadors, politicians, peace associations and others.

As one of this year’s Bridge Builder Award recipients, WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca will share a faith-based perspective in his keynote speech on lessons learned the past year and the strength of multinational cooperation on a global scale in unprecedented situations, such as the current pandemic.

Other keynote speakers are H.E. Dr Muhammad Bin Abulkarim Al-Issa, secretary general of the Muslim World League, who also received the award this year, H.E. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of the World Health Organization, and H.E. Jagan Chapagain, secretary general of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Aamir Javed Sheikh, head of the Foundation Dialogue for Peace, will be welcoming the audience.

The conference will be streamed live on social media.
