Israeli pastor tells of persecution on his family and church
Opposition from religious Jews gets stronger foe every day. The owner of the premises, where Levin family is living, laid a written ultimatum which he addressed to the city court. In the document he stated 14 reasons why they should be banished from renting his house. Many of the point are just nonsense. The first and main reason is that the believers in Yeshua gathered in this house and prayed. He is strongly against that people who believe in Yeshua should live in his house. He ordered that the family should leave in few days. The Levins are staying at the house, knowing that the law is on their side. The situation got extremely strained, though they didn’t gather there for prayers any more, but used the home of another sister from the congregation.
The car equipped with loudspeakers where driving around the hose and the neighbors were told not to communicate with the missionary family and to ban children from playing with their children.
Not enough that, the property of the family was terribly harmed. Two weeks ago, they put much sugar in the tank of their minivan. The sugar dispensed to all systems of the car which result in total corruption. The repair was extremely expensive. Praise God, who has released funds for it.
While the car was out of function, Eliav took the other church car KIA to use it to bring people. To prevent the new attack from the orthodox Jew, he parked both cars on the police station’s parking area. The area has good illumination and CTV.
Persecution of Israeli pastor and his family
It happened on Dec 1st at 2.34 in the morning. Eliav got a call from security company “Ituran” and was asked to check the car, because the alarm went off. Eliav went and found a lot of policemen and firemen which were putting out the fire on our car. The KIA was totally burnt-out and can not be restored. The glass in his minivan was broken. The police explained that this car was intended to be set on fire as well, because there was a lot of gasoline spilled inside. The investigation has begun.
"We turn to you with a plea to continue to pray for the city and for the young congregation. Because of regular intimidation's, some members are afraid to come to meetings. Please pray that God would hold everyone in His hand and those who believe in Him would not be ashamed Proclaim God’s protection over Levins family, over the adults a children, for there is a clear threat for their lives. Pray for them to stay in the place and serve God or to find a better one. We are very grateful for your support and prayers," said Pastor Sergey.
