Logos Hope, Operation Mobilization's newest vessel, departed from the shipyard in Trogir, Croatia after completing a two-year conversion project, reports MNN.
The vessel is heading to Kiel, Germany for final outfitting before being launched into service. It is expected to arrive in port this coming Saturday, Nov 24.
Individuals, churches, trusts and other community groups have so far donated over €23,000,000 (Euros) to help renovate Logos Hope.
This last project stop is expected to take six months and covers the last of the finish work. Work will include the final touches on the Visitor Experience, onboard community facilities and other areas where the visiting public will be hosted in the future.
A further boost in donations is also needed to finish this final stage of preparation and launch the vessel into service. Once launched, Logos Hope will transport vital literature resources, aid supplies and an all-volunteer crew committed to serving port communities around the world.
"The arrival of Logos Hope in Kiel is a great milestone toward the completion of the project. We look back with thankfulness to see the Lord's mercy and faithfulness. People, finance, plans and prayers have come together to make this day a reality. And we look forward with confidence that the Lord will continue to lead us. We can see the moment approaching when the ship will begin active service," said Logos Hope Project Director Lloyd Nicholas, Australia.
