Christians support an Orissa school project on a tight deadline
Two months ago, Worldwide Christian Schools shared a need involving one of their partnering schools, New Life Academy in Orissa, India, reports MNN.
The school was renting a facility while their new building was under construction. Emily Klooster with WWCS recaps the situation. "Their Hindu landlord wants to give the land to his children, so he's evicting them this coming April. So really, there's quite the timeline here."
New Life provides schooling and a permanent home for 75 children, and schooling for an additional 100 children in Orissa, India. Students come from all over to attend this unique, Christ-centered school in the center of strong Hindu and Muslim influence.
WWCS had less than four months to respond. A funding issue complicated the deadline, which meant they had to trust God for almost $100,000 in less than 120 days. "We're rushing through to try to get the funding to the school in order to finish the building that they had already started on land that they had already purchased."
God answered in a way that laid the foundation for future outreach. "We have just $10,000 to go to reach our goal of $87,000, which is fantastic news for this school. Construction has been underway, and we are planning a building dedication there in early May."
