Roman Catholic bishops in Kenya are contesting a new clause in the country's draft constitution, which states that life begins at birth instead of conception, reports Ecumenical News International. The bishops have warned that a parliamentary select committee debating the draft law in Naivasha, a town about 70 kilometres (42 miles) west of Nairobi, is secretly attempting to legalise abortion through the new clause.
