Patriarch Kirill congratulates Christian leaders on Christmas
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated heads of non-Orthodox Churches on Christmas and New Year, reports Interfax-Religion.
“I heartily congratulate you on the great feast of the Nativity of Christ and New Year! Under conditions of modern civilization, when many people lose spiritual and moral compass, the Star of Bethlehem is still showing the way to the Lord to all who seek light of the Divine Truth,” the Patriarch said in his message cited at the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations.
According to the Russian Church Primate, “today as ever, good news of Christ’s Birth gives a person the only secure hope for life renovation.”
“I wish you pure Christmas joy, good health and help from the Incarnate Lord in Your high service,” the Patriarch further said in his message.
Pope Benedict XVI of Rome, head of the Anglican community Rowan Williams, Catholicos Garegin II of All Armenians, head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland Archbishop Jukka Paarma are among Patriarch Kirill’s addressees.
