Update on the Golden Age Bible Study in Moscow Good News Church
The Golden Age ministry is an integral part of the evangelistic program of the Moscow Good News Church. Our monthly Vitamin Club programs both minister to the physical needs of seniors and provide an opportunity for us to build a rapport with them, reports Christian Telegraph and Rick Renner Ministries. From there, we invite them to participate in our weekly Golden Age Bible Study, where they can learn about Jesus and fellowship with one another. This is also a great opportunity for seniors in our church to bring their unsaved friends and loved ones to hear the Gospel message.
We have approximately 100 seniors regularly attending the Golden Age Bible study. In the last two weeks, ten people accepted Christ at these meetings. The teaching is usually on practical and life- changing Bible topics. In a way, this Bible study is a church in itself, complete with worship, preaching, tithes and offerings, and the love and support of other believers.
Maxim Myasnikov serves as the pastor of this congregation of seniors. Maxim pastored a small church in Moscow prior to joining the Moscow Good News Church team. He understands the heart of a pastor and the unique needs of elderly people, and he is committed to helping them grow in Christ. Salvation and discipleship are at the core of his ministry focus. When people accept Christ, Maxim calls them later in the week to pray with them, get to know them better, and invite them to the next week's meeting. Through this kind of love and personal attention, the Moscow Good News Church is building a strong ministry outreach that effectively draws Moscow's seniors into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Several years ago, God gave Rick Renner a vision for social evangelism and a unique idea for reaching the elderly. Through the implementing of this vision, thousands in Moscow and Kiev have heard about God's unfailing love, and hundreds have accepted Jesus as their Savior. Their lives have been changed; they are experiencing the love, joy, and peace of God in their lives; and they are ministering this same love to other seniors. And eternal fruit will continue to be produced among the elderly of the former USSR as the Good News is preached with power!
