Gospel for Asia-supported missionary in India heals the sick

By Gospel for Asia

Gospel for Asia-supported national missionary Lalita knew exactly what to do when she met two sick little girls who were running high fevers. She didn't call a doctor or get them medicine or bring them chicken soup. She simply knelt down and prayed for them. The Great Physician heard her prayers and healed them both.

Seeing God's touch in these girls' lives brought special memories for Lalita because it was through such a sickness that she ultimately became a missionary.

A high fever had almost taken her life when she was young—but the Lord spared her in an answer to her Christian brother's prayers. It was this simple prayer, uttered by a sibling who was only a child himself, that opened her heart to follow Jesus.

Experiencing this miracle inspired Lalita to dedicate her life to sharing the Good News that had cleansed her soul as well as healed her body. After studying in a Bible college—a decision that nearly got her kicked out of her family—she began serving in full-time ministry.

Now Lalita keeps up a rigorous schedule so she can reach out to as many people as possible. She visits a slum near her home. She leads ladies' meetings and teaches Sunday school classes. And she helps another GFA-supported missionary conduct worship services at his church.

Those who serve with Lalita say she has a gift for counseling and encouragement, along with a good measure of faith to pray boldly for the sick and hurting people that she meets.

Lalita asks for prayer that the Lord will continue to work powerfully through her. She desires that many people will know the loving power of the God who healed her and who stands ready to heal them, as well.
