EU can take more refugees Swedish minister tells church group

Sweden's minister for migration and asylum policy has urged European Union countries to make greater efforts to resettle refugees from outside Europe, in a speech delivered to continental church leaders, reports Ecumenical News International.

"The overwhelming majority of the refugees in the world find themselves in places far away from the EU," said minister Tobias Billström. "Most of them will never get a chance to leave these places and start a new life elsewhere, although many of them are among the most vulnerable ones."
