Lutheran Medical Center named Top 100 Hospital

Once again, Lutheran Medical Center has been named to the Community Value Index (CVI) Top 100 Hospitals in the country list for the fourth year in a row. Scoring in the top twenty percent, it has also been designated a "Five-Star" facility, reports Lutheran HealthCare.

"To be named one of the nation's top ranked hospitals for the fourth year in a row means that we are succeeding in our mission to provide the highest quality services," said Wendy Z. Goldstein, president and CEO. "Most importantly, as the health care industry struggles financially, Lutheran Medical Center remains extremely efficient. Our Brooklyn neighbors can count on us to provide the right health services, in the best way."

The CVI is a proprietary index created to offer a measure of the value that a hospital provides to its community. The annual listing identifies the nation's top hospitals that are low cost, low charge hospitals, which uses financial resources efficiently while maintaining a high degree of community value.

This year's findings are published in Cleverley + Associates' "State of the Hospital Industry – 2009 edition." Cleverley + Associates is a leading health care financial consulting firm specializing in operational benchmarking and performance enhancement strategies. The company's primary focus is to provide health care providers with solutions and recommendations that will enhance their financial performance through better pricing decisions; improved coding, capital restructuring, cost and productivity enhancements; and/or investment management changes.
