Patriarch of Moscow comments on his upcoming visit to Ukraine
The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) commented upon his upcoming visit to Ukraine on 27 July to 5 August, reports RISU. As Patriarch Kirill pointed out on 10 July after the opening of the Valaam Monastery Museum, today Ukraine especially needs prayer “to call on God’s grace not only for our personal life but for national, social, and political life.”
The patriarch of Moscow, as the press service of the ROC informs, also expressed his expectation that the Lord will bring peace to Ukraine, which will make people happier. “I believe in the power of payer and I am deeply convinced that the Lord enters history when we want this,” remarked the primate of the ROC.
He assured journalists that his visit to Ukraine will be only pastoral, “in no way associated with the political turbulence in Ukraine.” “I hope I will primarily pray with the pious Ukrainian people, touch the ancient sacred objects of our Church,” declared the Patriarch of Moscow.
