Prayer breakfast was held during Berlinale film festival
During the Berlin film festival “Berlinale” international filmmakers are gathering for a prayer breakfast every morning, reports Wolfgang Polzer, special to ASSIST News Service.
The “Faith in Film Meetings” are organized by German scriptwriter and movie director Christoph Silber, who also works in New York. He has written for several German television series and was script consultant for the movie “Good bye Lenin!” (2003).
“There are more Christians in the movie industry than is generally known,” Silber told the evangelical news agency “idea”. In his opinion the Christian faith should not be left out of important cultural events such as the Berlinale.
During each of the prayer meetings one celebrity shares his or her encounters with the Christian faith. The theme is taken from Psalm 36:9: “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light“.
The Berlinale takes place February 7 – 17. The festival opened with the world premiere of the Rolling Stones concert film „Shine a Light“. Among the guests were the movie’s director Martin Scorsese and Stones Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood.
