The (Presbyterian) Church of Scotland says it will not ordain homosexual clergy or engage in public discussion about the matter for two years, reports Ecumenical News International. The move is seen as a bid to avoid a split in the denomination over the ordination of gay clergy but the ban on discussion was criticised by those both for and against allowing homosexual ministers.
