Operation Mobilization Kids Club affected by slum fire

For nearly five years, Operation Mobilization has been serving at a kids club in Bangladesh. This outreach has been steadily growing, with 150 children now attending.

Recently, disaster struck the slum where all of the kids live, reports MNN.

One of the neighborhood ladies was cooking over a woodfire, as was her custom, when a gust of wind blew the flames and ignited a nearby shack. The fire spread quickly through the slum, fueled by the bamboo and wood walls of the homes.

Residents of the slum fled for their lives. Fortunately, no one was killed, though some sustained severe injuries.

Within those few moments, over 200 families lost everything they owned, except for the clothes on their backs.

The fire was so intense that even the tin on the roofs of the homes warped and was ruined.

OM and two other partner organizations responded to this disaster and gave money and clothing to some of the families. They now plan on helping the families rebuild their homes.

Many of the families followed God, and numerous kids attend the kids club.
