Ukrainian Catholic University to teach Christian managers
A presentation was held on 3 February 2008 at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv to launch its business school. The school will strive to combine management educational programs developed according to the best international standards, with unique business development products and including a cultural and spiritual component, reports RISU.
The press conference was attended by representatives of various institutions and the founders of the business school. The Ukrainian Catholic University was represented by Fr. Dr. Borys Gudziak; the other project partners were represented by the Investment Director of Universal Investment Group, Andrii Khudo; Executive Vice-President of SoftServ Corporation on administrative matters, Oleh Denys; General Manager/Director of the Open Joint-Stock Company Trottola, Yaroslav Rushchyshyn; and the Director of the UCU Business School, Sofia Opatska
The Lviv business school will provide educational and consulting services within the framework of management development programs at various levels. The programs comply with international standards and cover the whole spectrum of managerial spheres. Professionals with experience in administrative work and considerable experience in various functional fields, such as finances, marketing, HR management will participate in the school
The school offers not only general short-term educational programs and an MBA program, which is to start from April, 2008, but also complex programs of development of managers and specialists within the framework of an integrated strategy of a specific company, which will help the participants not only to acquire necessary knowledge and develop their own competences but also use them consistently for successful achievement of goals of their companies. A fundamental spiritual and cultural component of the education to be received by the managers and in the environment of the Ukrainian Catholic University, whose mission and values are fully shared by the school, will facilitate further development of understanding between business and the intellectual and educational environment and society, in general, for their relations will be built on recognition of the human moral and Christian values.
”We would like the participants of our programs to be ambitious in the positive sense of the word, to set great goals and make effort to achieve them,” states the school’s head, Sofia Opatska. “At the same time, we stress that business in Ukraine can be run in a fitting way, being mindful of employees, the environment, and the situation here in Ukraine in the next ten to twenty years. Therefore, it is not sufficient any more just to earn money quickly and effectively. Today, the question of how one earns is also important.
