Аn Orthodox priest urged to increase culture of dialog in Internet
Russian Orthodox Church urges to increase the culture of dialog in Internet, reports Interfax-Religion.
"It concerns both livejournals and different public statements. Today the culture connected with anonymity of statements in some segments of digital community has become to be the anti-cultural," told deputy head of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin at the round-table conference.
Positively concerning to the fact that many of his colleagues-priests also conduct livejournals he at the same time had warned them against "bifurcation" and low level of dialog in Internet.
"I think it's normal and good when the priest as the preacher, the peacemaker, the missionary in any segment of information field answers the people's questions, gives them advices," Fr. Vsevolod said.
However he's convinced that the priest should act under his name "without trying to fork on itself and on the virtual character".
