Testimonies of God's power from the Vietnamese Good News Church

Vietnamese Good News Church shared testimonies that have influenced some of its members.

At last year's Lunar New Year service, a young couple accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Several months later, the woman became pregnant. As her delivery date approached, her doctor noticed a problem with her heart. Closer inspection revealed the condition to be life-threatening, and her doctor told her, "We can save you, or we can save the baby. We cannot do both." This new believer, a physician herself, understood the truth of this diagnosis, yet she also understood where to turn for help - her loving Heavenly Father. She and her husband immediately began to pray. And when they returned from the hospital, the couple called Pastor Quoc Hung, who immediately joined them in prayer. Together they prayed for hours, standing on God's promise of healing, confessing the Word of God, and believing for a miracle.

The following day, she returned to the hospital for further tests. The hospital staff was shocked to find the woman's heart was completely normal! God had miraculously answered their prayers overnight! This year the couple attended the Lunar New Year service with their beautiful, healthy, eight-week-old baby. They shared their testimony with the congregation and gave God the glory for what He had done in their lives.

Another powerful testimony came from a Vietnamese businessman. He accepted Christ when he was 16 years old under the communist rule of the Soviet Union, and he has been a faithful member of the Vietnamese Good News Church for five years. God has blessed him mightily in business, specifically in the areas of food manufacturing and distribution. Beginning with nothing, this believer slowly built one of the most successful privately owned businesses in Moscow.

However, as the global economy worsened, his business prospects began to suffer. His non-believing partners even feared the company would go into bankruptcy as their customers and suppliers struggled with difficult market conditions. But this man knew something his partners did not -namely, that the source of his provision was God. So he took the needs of his company before the Lord in prayer, trusting God to supply his needs according to His riches and glory through Christ Jesus.

The economic crisis still continues to affect businesses in Russia and the former Soviet Union, but this man's business is thriving. While his partners panicked, he prayed -- and when he prayed, God acted. Soon after this man went before his Heavenly Father in prayer, a firm of investors came with an unsolicited offer to invest in the company. They injected millions into his business, enabling the company to not only survive, but to grow and prosper.
