Ascending Worship Church held women's conference in Omsk
The Ascending Worship Church in Omsk, one of the largest cities in the Russian Federation, recently hosted a special weekend Women's Conference. American missionary Katherine Dickerson was the conference speaker, focusing her teaching on how to deepen one's prayer life, reports Rick Renner Ministries.
At this conference, ten churches from the region gathered together for two glorious days of praise and worship, dramatizations, dances, and powerful teaching on prayer. Approximately 500 women were present at the Friday evening service. Saturday's meetings, which were specifically designed for those in leadership positions, had approximately 350 ladies in attendance.
The leadership team in Omsk, a delightful and hospitable group of believers, has a God-given vision to cultivate unity among fellow Christians, especially in their community. Although the congregation of this church is relatively small (approximately 85-100 members), these precious people are ablaze with passion -- possessing a strong vision and great tenacity to unite the local churches and spread the love of God.
At this year's conference, the women earnestly hungered for more of God, their hearts longing to receive answers to their petitions and to gain a deeper understanding of the ways of God through prayer. This burning passion was especially evident on Saturday as the women joined together in prayer to intercede on behalf of the city of Omsk. Hearts cried out for the lost and hurting, calling them forth out of prostitution, alcoholism, and drug addiction and beckoning them to come to Jesus. Lifting their voices in one accord, these sisters in Christ declared, "Omsk, His blood is for you!"
Following this powerful time of prayer, a leader from one of the local churches shared with the women about how her congregation had been fasting and praying over Omsk. She then professed how thrilled she and her church members were to hear these powerful words spoken by the unction of the Holy Spirit over the city that they carry in their hearts and prayers. Surely the Lord rekindled hope in the hearts of those women who were standing in faith for the salvation of their loved ones and for the hurting and lost in their city and across their nation.
