At the Good News Seminaries, a new school year has begun, and the students in Moscow, Kiev, and Vladimir are excited, reports Rick Renner Ministries. Over the course of their schooling, they will delve deep into the Word, discovering new insights and developing their minds and spirits with study and prayer. This year, there are 55 new students at the Moscow campus, 54 returning students in Kiev, and 38 returning students in Vladimir. In addition, the Moscow-based masters' degree program has 32 students.
These students will receive 216 hours of instruction throughout this school year. This fall, new students will study various introductory courses, such as Principles of Faith, Authority of the Believer, Principles of Prayer, and The Life and Teachings of Christ. Course offerings for returning students include Evangelism, Gifts of the Spirit, Homiletics, and Galatians. This year, the Good News Seminary is again offering its pastoral counseling masters' courses, along with theology and pastoral studies.
The students of the seminaries range in age from 18 to 72. Some are new Christians; others have been saved and have helped in the church for many years. Many attend the Moscow or Kiev Good News Church, whereas others travel from different cities to study at the seminary. The instructors strive to know the students personally to help them grow in the knowledge of God's plan for their lives and equip them to fulfill it.
Good News Seminary Director Terri Young shared the vision for the seminary with the incoming students. In her opening address, she told them, "It is all right if you recently accepted Christ. You have the ability to grow spiritually at a fast rate because the Holy Spirit is our main Teacher here at the Seminary. If you are listening and applying the Word of God to your life, you will grow into a mature Christian."
