Sunday Adelaja, well-known by many Christians for his preaching on TBN channel and the founder of the biggest church in Europe, "The Embassy of God" (Kiev, Ukraine) which has about 10,000 members, has left his post. Pastor Sunday announced it himself on the conference dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the church as Christian Telegraph News reports.
"I have accomplished the first stage of my ministry and believe that it is time to pass the baton. I think that God is challenging me to leave the pastorate and give it to the younger ones", he said, - "the vision I have now is to plant 250 churches in America and 300 churches in Europe. Moreover, God started to concern me about my own country - Nigeria. So now get used to not seeing me so often. Instead there is the whole world waiting for us."
He finished saying that the main office will be in Kiev; his family will also stay in Kiev and he hands the central church over to his wife Bose.
"It is quite hard to suppose how the things will turn out in the future," - Christian Telegraph analyst in Ukraine Sergey Sergienko says. - "The problem is that Sunday is the brand of this church and if he doesn't show up on the stage for a long time the outflow of people from the church is possible. Even now, knowing that pastor Sunday is not going to be on the service many seek another church to go this day. So now all depends on Bose - if she is able to show the church the same charisma as pastor Sunday did."
