Two Christian artists will present a new morning show
Two influential figures in the history of Christian music in the United Kingdom are to present a new morning show together on London's Premier Radio, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.
Christian music producer John Pantry and former folk singer Cindy Kent will host Inspirational Breakfast, Premier's weekday morning talk show.
The four-hour program starts at half past seven with Pantry and Kent discussing the Christian news of the day, followed by the hour-long topical phone in, BodyTalk. Pantry and Kent will also be running a series of competitions -- this week the pair are offering to pay listener's utility bills.
"We're all looking forward to the new Inspirational Breakfast," John Pantry told Premier listeners. "The show will be filled with spiritual reflection and enthusiastic debate alongside inspirational stories and Christian news."
The recently ordained Cindy Kent was equally excited. "I've spent the last two decades involved in radio broadcasting, starting out with LBC and Capital, but working in Christian radio has to be the best experience yet."
"After presenting Premier's Homerun program until the spring of last year, I'm thrilled to start 2008 on Inspirational Breakfast with John."
Cindy Kent is best known as the lead singer in 60's folk band, The Settlers. After her conversion to Christianity, Kent went on to perform with a series of Christian musicians, including Cliff Richard. She then moved into the world of radio broadcasting and has recently been ordained as a Deacon in the Church of England.
Reverend John Pantry began his career as a singer/songwriter and record producer for both Christian and secular artists. He has presented Inspirational Breakfast live from across the globe, including Sydney, Los Angeles and Bethlehem.
Pantry and Kent will be the second presenting pair to enliven listeners at Premier Radio after Dave Rose and Bridgette Tetteh launched the successful Premier Drive in the summer of 2007.
