In the latest incident, a church was attacked and pastor was beaten by a group of 30 Hindu radicals in Hubli, Karnataka state, on Sunday, August 31, - reports James Varghese, special to ASSIST News Service..

According to the website www.persecution.in, the incident took place at about 10.30 am during a worship service in a church called The Full Gospel Church at Sharavati Nagar, Old Hubli. Pastor Thankaraj Dhansing (41) ministers this church.

The story reported that a group of 30 Hindu radicals barged into the church and first attacked a believer named Mr. Basavaraj (45) and injured his left leg.

Then the goons intimidated the lady believers and turned to the chief guest speaker, Rev. David Perumal, who was invited by the church that day and beat him badly and injured his left leg. He is currently undergoing treatment in intensive care unit of KIMC hospital at Hubli.

News sources said that police from the nearest station arrived to the spot after receiving a call from the church pastor, Thankaraj Dhansing. The police took the pastor and few believers to the police station and after initial investigation filed a First information Report (FIR) against the attackers.

Pastor Thankaraj Dhansing has been in the ministry for the past eight years and has about 60 members in his church.
