UN officials fear violent impact on Kenya children

Church leaders in Kenya say they fear that tensions could arise in schools in areas affected by post-election violence, while the United Nations Children's Fund said it was concerned about what the unrest was doing to young people, reports Ecumenical News International. "We are watching the situation. We fear some threats to children attending schools in areas affected by the violence," Anglican Bishop Eliud Wabukala of Bugoma, the chairperson of the National Council of Churches in Kenya, told Ecumenical News International on 9 January.
