An Orthodox priest began "Around the World" tour in a balloon
Priest and traveler Fyodor Konyukhov started round the world flight in a balloon, rising into the sky from the airfield West Australian town of Northam, Christian Telegraph reports according to the Christian Megaportal invictory.com.
In two hours the Balloon flight took the train at an altitude of just over 6,000 meters.
65-year-old Konyukhov intends to break the record of the American Steve Fossett to orbit the world in a balloon for 13 days.
"He is an incredible traveler. It is as I said, a responsible approach to risk," said the Australian traveler Dick Smith. He noted that the Russian can improve Fossett's result.
Fedor Konyukhov has several world records. In particular, he was the first who was able to cross the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, alone in a rowing boat.
