For many years, Moscow Good News Church Children's Ministry director Svetlana Sapuch has dreamed of holding a summer camp for kids. This July, her dream became a reality as 91 children, ages 7 to 12, traveled to a campground outside of Moscow for a week of fun in the sun, reports exclusively for Christian Telegraph Rick Renner Ministries.
Svetlana and her team planned a week full of activities, including a canoe trip down a nearby river, sports, games, music, dramas, and competitions. Each day began with physical exercises and was followed by breakfast, prayer, and a Bible study. Then it was off to enjoy the day's activities. In the evenings, the Children's Ministry team put on entertaining programs, and the children and camp staff played, laughed, and enjoyed their time outdoors.
House of Mercy director Lilit Gorielvi, who has organized Christian camps in the past, assisted the Children's Ministry team in planning the retreat, and she and her husband Alexander led the canoe trip. The Youth Ministry also participated in the revelry by contributing music to the evening programs.
For the kids of the Moscow Good News Church, this camp was more than just seven days in the sun; it was also an opportunity to study God's Word, forge new friendships, and build up their faith. The lessons they learned at this camp will stay with them for life and as they grow, we believe the seed that was planted in their hearts will produce a bountiful harvest in the years to come!
