Belarus: drugs should be a total rejection of it by the society
A major barrier to the spread of drugs should be a total rejection of it by the society. This was said by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on December 4th, on combating illicit trafficking of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and analogs, reports The Christian Telegraph in reference to krynitsa.info.
“The formation of the corresponding worldview, based on traditional for our country and other Christian values – the problem is not only of the state and the media, but also of the non-governmental organizations, churches, educational institutions and, most important, families and citizens,” he said, reported the press service of the head of state.
Of particular concern is the fact that the contingent of drug users is the younger people of Belarus including pupils, students, and other categories of youth. In two years, there are more than a thousand cases of overdose Spice, and 25 people were killed. “This is a problem of the family, the state and a threat to the gene pool of the nation,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of ability of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health to explain the dangers of drugs.
According to him, they are not really involved in a drug prevention campaign in educational institutions. He requested that each school has to show what drugs could lead to. “But we have to show children, show that fear, what it means show pictures and films,” said the president.
