SowScripture.org and Scripture Union USA have partnered to release www.sowscripture.org with a goal to share the message of Christ with 10,000,000 around the English-speaking world this Christmas.
SowScripture.org allows donors to purchase advertising space through the Google Advertising Network, displaying ten Christmas-themed Bible verses on websites around the world. When viewers click on one of the ad-verses, they visit a Scripture Union ministry page with a video and information about Jesus Christ. Visitors are also given access to a free online Bible study and free downloadable Bible reading resources.
A gift of $20 purchases 10,000 verses; $40 purchases 20,000 verses; $80 purchases 40,000 verses; $400 purchases 200,000 verses and $1,000 purchases 500,000 verses.
At the start of 2014, Pete Chapman, founder of Top Verses.com originally placed Scriptures into 220 countries and over 5,000 people clicked through to details about salvation using a Kickstarter Project.
"Anyone can sow thousands of Scriptures this way," said Chapman. "Past generations of missionaries and evangelists could only dream of the extraordinary opportunity we have to reach lost souls all over the world. Let's be faithful by making the most of the technology we have available."
The project naturally evolved as the Christmas season approached and Chapman started brainstorming with Mark Brown, creator of the 9.5 million followers-strong Bible Page on Facebook (United Bible Societies) and newly appointed Scripture Union USA, Vice President for Bible Ministries.
Brown said, "I am excited to be working with Sow Scripture to harness technology for the work of the Gospel [this Christmas]. Let me encourage you to support this pioneering outreach and sow life changing Scriptures into lives all over the world using the power of the internet. "
