First Council of Russian Far East of Pentecostal churches

For several years, the bishops and pastors of the Far Eastern Churches have been planning a council to achieve unity among Protestants. The first Council of Russian Far East of Pentecostal churches was held in November 2014 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia. During this event there was an opening of the largest Protestant church in Russia “Full Gospel Church,” reports the press-center of “Church of Jesus Christ.”

“This is the first such event in our history, when bishops and pastors of the Far East churches came to conduct the council and achieve unity among Protestants. Thanks a lot for the celebration,” said Bishop Anatoly Poprotsky, the senior pastor of the Association of Kamchatka churches “Evangelism.”

Konstantin Bendas and Edward Grabovenko, representatives of the two largest Russian Evangelical Alliance RUOEC and RC of CCEF, were the keynote speakers at the conference dedicated to the Council. The delegates from all over the Far East and members of local churches gathered in the hall with capacity of 1,000 people.

“We have reached such an interesting and blessed state when we don’t compete with each other, but rather inspire each other to serve the Lord. I believe that the Far East swamped the wave of God's awakening, and today more than ever the church is preparing those people who will serve the new people who will be brought to the church by the Holy Spirit,” noted Peter Yarmolyuk, the Bishop of Sakhalin Association of RC of CCEF.

“Our goal first of all is to help Russian pastors to pay attention on the things that unite us. It is not our religious views and not a form of service, but it’s still a sermon and purpose of God to go and preach the Gospel. Therefore, I consider this meeting as a good opportunity to talk, pray and call people to ensure that fulfill of the Great Commission. Although the forum is called the Far East, I see that the purpose of the Council is by the heart of God, and that is what drives the Church in Russia,” said Edward Grabovenko, the head bishop of RC of CCEF.
