The Good News church held kid's 'Native American' summer event
Children absolutely love summertime, and to bless the children in our congregation, the Happy Ark Children's Ministry of the Moscow Good News Church holds many fun summer events. Throughout the season, kids play together outdoors - learning the Bible through games, dramas, and stories while having a great time in the sun, reports for Christian TelegraphRick Renner Ministries.
«Recently we took our church kids to the forest on the edge of Moscow to play "Indians," reports one of the ministers. - The Native American peoples are fascinating to Russians, and our children loved dressing up in beads and headdresses. We divided our kids by age into different tribes - such as the Apache, Huron, Comanche, etc - and each tribe had to demonstrate their wilderness skills by completing different tasks. The children in each tribe constructed wigwams, learned to track animals, and competed in fun athletic contests.
When the tribes finally gathered together, the Children's Ministry team told them a story about an elder Indian who had learned a secret of great wisdom: "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13 NIV). The leaders then shared with the kids that Jesus demonstrated this great love by dying for their sins and that through His death, they can have eternal life».
The Good News Church's youth group theater ministry also took part in the program, performing a wonderful drama for the kids. And on that day, four children accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Overall, 185 MGNC children took part in this fun excursion. This was just one of the many fun activities the Children's Ministry has planned for this summer.
