After five big days of ministry, the enthusiastic and triumphant ministry team boarded the train and headed back to Moscow with hearts full of thankfulness to God for all He did and will continue to do in the region of Volgograd. Only eternity will tell the full impact of this time of ministry. And what of those American women who traveled the more than 5,000 miles by plane and 36 hours roundtrip by train? What of this gallant bunch of women who slept little, worked much, ate odd-looking food, took cold showers, and traveled hours down bumpy dirt roads in a land not their own? They now sleep soundly in their spacious king- or queen-sized beds, surrounded by all the comforts of home in America. However, the women who boarded the plane bound for Moscow are hardly the same women who returned home. Their hearts have been enlarged for lost souls, and their world now includes a people and a nation they will forever hold in their prayers.
Within this varied group is a pastor, a businesswoman, a CEO, and, of course, many mothers and wives. They traveled to the far reaches of the earth to bring hope and encouragement to hurting women and children, and even now they're longing for the next time they can find their way again to the former Soviet Union to touch people with the love of God. As one American team member so aptly wrote, "No matter how much you give of yourself, you get so much back in return!"
