Ukrainian Interchurch Council urged to pray for Ukraine

“Dear brothers and sisters! You have already known about the hard confrontation at Maidan. Therefore, we should all prayer harder for the victory of good in Ukraine. O Lord, strengthen us, have mercy on our people!” said Alexey Demidovich, the presiding of UIC and Sergey Ubogov, an executive secretary of the Board.
Remember that on February 18th the confrontation between the
police and protesters in the government quarter of Kiev was renewed. Protesters went to the security forces, which were cordoned in front of the parliament, and demanded the return the Constitution of 2004. The situation quickly escalated. Clashes between the police officers and titushkas (people in civilian clothes, - ed.) took place. The Interior Ministry forces applied traumatic weapons and stun grenades and several deaths and many wounded were reported.
