Ministries partner together for outreach to Kenya's slums

Global Aid Network has launched a mobile medical clinic to serve the slums and the rural communities in western Kenya. They partnered with other Campus Crusade ministries to broaden the ministry impact in Kenya, reports MNN.

In western Kenya, health institutions and medical supplies are scarce and in high demand. To supply the areas of need, Global Aid Network will provide a 24-foot, self-contained, mobile medical clinic stocked with medical supplies.

Several ministries including Athletes in Action, The JESUS Film Project, Keynote and the local Campus Ministry will be involved in medical, humanitarian aid and evangelical outreach in the rural areas of the Western and Nyanza Provinces as well as six major slums in Nairobi.

JESUS Film teams, traveling with the mobile unit, will show the film in every community where the clinic is stationed.

Keynote, the music ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, is developing a strategy to provide training in music while Athletes in Action is seeking to conduct sports camps. Wherever these ministries go, their aim is to provide the Good News and good deeds as they look after the orphans and widows in their distress.'

When asked about the potential for this outreach, George Mamboleo, Regional Field Director for Africa, Asia and the Middle East stated, "The need is great, and once this is done, we will be able to see the great impact. We are seeking to enhance the health of the men, women and children in Kenya - not just their physical health but their spiritual health as well."

The collaboration between the ministries will have a broad impact, establish ongoing community outreach for the local Campus Crusade ministries and help to reach the people of Kenya for Christ.
