Zimbabwe needs truth, reconciliation commission, says magazine

Zimbabwean author, broadcaster and historian Lawrence Vambe says he supports a suggestion made by the Roman Catholic weekly magazine The Tablet that something along the lines of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission may be necessary to help solve Zimbabwe's problems, reports Ecumenical News International. "I really think it is essential," Vambe said in an interview with Ecumenical News International. "It doesn't necessarily have to be church-led but, obviously, churches should be involved. It must involve all the people of Zimbabwe who have suffered so terribly under [President] Robert Mugabe."
