House of Mercy team went in orphanages of Moscow

Last week the House of Mercy team visited six orphanages and two schools to present their evangelistic Easter program - reaching 390 orphans and 150 schoolchildren with the Gospel message, reports Rick Renner Ministries. Through this unique outreach, the children learned how Christ's sacrifice reconciles us to our loving Father.

The House of Mercy program included original music in a variety of styles - from classical to hip-hop inspired songs. The kids of the House of Mercy performed dances, and their original drama clearly illustrated how we are redeemed through Jesus. Afterward, the team shared the message of Easter with the children, teaching them how Jesus gives us freedom and victory over sin and oppression.

Regarding their Easter outreach to the orphanages, House of Mercy administrator Jane Blume observed: "There's something powerful about kids who are orphans themselves sharing Jesus with other orphans. Our kids at the House of Mercy have stood in the shoes of those children and know what they're going through."

For the outreach to the schools, a team from the Moscow X-Factor Youth Ministry, which included youth pastor Philip Renner, joined the House of Mercy. Philip's team played contemporary Christian songs for the students and shared from their hearts about God's love. The Youth Ministry is hoping to follow up on these evangelistic programs to the schools, returning to these teens with whom the X-Factor team's enthusiasm and energetic style resonates so well.

The House of Mercy and the Youth Ministry also provided presents for the schools and orphanages - giving them hollow chocolate eggs with a toy surprise inside that bore the inscription "Christ Is Risen." For the young audiences, ages 6 to 18, this was a chance to hear the Gospel story from kids whose lives have been radically touched by the power of God. For the young people on the House of Mercy and Youth Ministry teams, it was an opportunity to share with others what their faith really means and to spread the Good News that Christ has paid for our sins.
