The Moscow Church serves to the English-Speaking Community

The Moscow Good News Church is an international church with more than 40 nations represented. Since the Sunday message is usually presented in English, the church attracts a number of English speakers who are in Moscow on business or as students. On Friday, April 18, MGNC held an English-language praise and worship night to minister to our English-speaking community, reports Rick Renner Ministries. Featuring special music by American pastor Randall Richards, this time of praise and worship provided a great opportunity for English-speakers to praise God in their native tongue and to worship as a community in their common language.

The evening began with several songs from Tehila, a choir made up mostly of African students. Their exciting style was both dynamic and worshipful as they sang to the Lord with all their hearts. The audience sang, clapped, and praised God while enjoying the fun atmosphere created by the music. Then Denise Renner sang a few hymns about the work of Christ on the Cross, and the audience joined with her in singing the familiar lyrics. God's presence filled the room as His people worshiped Him together.

Randall Richards, pastor of Elkins Church of God in Elkins, West Virginia, then led the English- speaking worshipers in a variety of classic and contemporary praise songs. Rev. Richards is an anointed musician and vocalist with a great gift for leading others to the throne of God through worship. As he sang and played the piano, the power of God touched hearts throughout the room. More than 100 English-speakers sang and praised God with one voice, giving glory to the Father.

Reflecting on the evening, Rick Renner noted, "God is revealing a huge need in the city of Moscow. Many people live here who are not going to learn Russian. They're not here to fulfill a call to long- term ministry; they're here to finish school or do a job. We have an opportunity to really minister to the English-speaking community. Through events like this worship service and through our International Ministry outreach, we have the opportunity to minister to English-speaking believers in Moscow and to witness to people from many nations in this city."
