Christian doctor: Why doctors need to be preached to
Korean Christian doctor and representative of the World Christian Doctors Network (WCDN, http://www.wcdn.org/) Yang Chan Kyu spoke about why for doctors it is so difficult to believe in God and His miracles. In the interview with the Christian Telegraph correspondent, he, who is also a member of Daejeon Manmin Church, noted that medical workers want to believe, in spite of their scientific mind.
We have to have open minds and to be good listeners. Doctors are people with their own problems. It is harder for them to believe in God, but it is possible. Yang Chan Kyu, Korean Christian doctor
“We have to have open minds and to be good listeners,” underlined Yang Chan Kyu. “Doctors are people with their own problems. It is harder for them to believe in God, but it is possible. I and other Christian doctors are good examples of that. We have to tell them that the knowledge they have is not everything. We also have to present obvious evidence to them, so that they can speak out.”
According to the doctor, non-Christian doctors often explain the phenomena of healings in some other mysterious way. “They do not recognize God or mention something they do not know,” said doctor Kyu. “They have boundaries about their knowledge. And they try to ignore things that are located on the other side of their knowledge.”
The Christian doctor also mentioned that WCDN collects information about medical histories and tries to prove the healings with the help of medical documents before spreading the information about it in the Manmin Church or media.
“When a Senior Pastor Jaerock Lee has a prayer meeting we are ready to collect the testimonies about healings,” shared Yang Chan Kyu. “Then we want people to go through medical tests. Sometimes it is very hard to get medical data from doctors because they do not want to give their prescriptions or documents. But very often they become witnesses of ‘unexplained’ healings.”
