A father and three children who were lost for three days in the snowy California woods say God helped them survive the freezing temperatures, reports CitizenLink Daily.
Frederick Dominguez and his children — Christopher, 18, Lexi, 14, and Joshua, 12 — ventured into the foothills north of Sacramento on Dec. 16 in search of a Christmas tree. But as darkness and snow began to fall, they lost their trail.
The family slept inside a log, removed their wet socks and rubbed each other's feet to keep warm. The Associated Press said they relied on humor and sang church songs.
On the third day, after more than a foot of snow had fallen, rescue helicopters reached them.
“When they turned around, man, I was just praising God and saying, ?Thank you Lord, thank you Lord,’ because I knew we had made it,” Frederick Dominguez told CNN.
When asked how they survived, he said, “Jesus Christ.”
