In personal prayer request Reverend Suliasi Kurulo urged Christians to pray for Fiji Islands.
He noted that after four consecutive days of torrential rain, in the Fiji Islands caused most of towns, cities and villages to be flooded. Most villages and homes are 15 feet under water, as roads turn into sea of debris.
Rev. Suliasi Kurulo also wrote that people are warned to prepare for the worst if a cyclone was to hit the nation in the aftermath of the current rainfall and flooding. Local newspaper reported that the flood is worse than the flood in 2009, because of the duration and disruption of the services, homes, Business and roads.
“Farmers have lost out as their crops have been totally destroyed. In the Northern Division of Fiji there has been electricity blackout and water cuts and our people are still accessing the damaged caused. Most of our Church building are used by the Government as evacuation centers and we are co-operating with other Relief Organization which is not much in Fiji, towards the Flood victims,” described the situation Rev. Suliasi Kurulo.
According to National News, a Leading Relief Organization said that they don’t have the capacity at his stage in distributing food, which is the immediate need at the moment.
The minister told that their Global Compassion have already responded swiftly by mobilizing all of workers throughout the nation to provide a feeding programme, and the distribution of Food Packs to the flood victims, but they are in need of prayers.
“We ask you to pray for God’s Grace, and Strength as we serve our Nation with the heart of Compassion in our time of need,” urged Rev. Suliasi Kurulo.
