Ukrainian Churches established the “Christian Education” fund
The “Christian Education” charitable fund was established by Public Council on Cooperation with Churches and Religious Organizations under the Ministry of Education and Science on November, 17, reports the Christian Telegraph in reference to the Institute of Religious Freedom.
Vladimir Marushenko, member of the Christian Democratic Council Board, was elected as the Fund President.
“The idea to establish such a fund appeared a year ago. The main aim of the fund is to spread Christian education, including Christian ethics, in schools and in Ukrainian society. Representatives from different churches united to achieve this goal,” said Vladimir Marushenko.
The fund founders are Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate, Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Kiev Patriarchate, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians – Baptists, All-Ukrainian Union of Churches of Evangelical Christians – Pentecostal, Ukrainian Christian Evangelical Church.
“The fund will lend assistance in the realization of scientific and educational curricula, based on Christian values by providing support for scientists, teachers and students,” noted Yuri Reshetnikov, member of the fund Board.
