Christians made an appel to Belarusian embasy in Kiev
A picket in support of New Life church and pastor Slava Goncharenko took place on Monday, March, 31 at 3 p.m. in front of the Belarusian Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, reports New Life church press-center. There participated about 30 people - Evangelical believers of the Ukrainian churches, including 2 bishops and 5 pastors.
The action was caused by the pressure put on the pastor and the church by the Minsk city Executive Committee.
The participants of the picket were holding posters: «One faith», «Stop prosecuting Christians in Belarus», «Leave «New Life» alone».
According to the information of the action’s coordinator, Bishop of the Synod of National Evangelical Churches of Ukraine, Vladimir Garbar’, in the beginning of the action the participants were told that soon an embassy representative would come out to them. But after two hours the embassy guards said that no one would come out and the guards were even forbidden to take a letter-appeal from the picket’s participants. After taking counsel, church representatives decided to address the letter by mail and in case of worsening of the situation in Minsk, to repeat the action but to make it large in number of participants so that the Belarusian Embassy would react and accept the appeal to the violators of the rights and freedoms of Belarusian Evangelical Christian churches.
