“I am so tired of answering this question about my religious beliefs,” says the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama. “I repeat one more time that I am a practicing Christian and have been a member of one Church (the United Church of Christ) for almost twenty years. I pray every evening,” he asserts, Christian Telegraph reports.
Many observers say that the rumors that Barack Obama is an Islamist are spread by the supporters of his opponent in this close race, Hillary Clinton. Their alleged goal is to get as many members of the Jewish community as possible to support Clinton. Traditionally, the large majority of Jewish voters belong to the Democratic Party in the US, and only 2% of American Jews vote for Republicans. In addition, New York state has the largest Jewish community in the US and Hillary Clinton is one of its senators.
As reported earlier in this publication, Barack Obama has promised to use the US presidency as a “bully pulpit” for homosexual activism, according to an open letter released on his campaign website: "I will never compromise on my commitment to equal rights for all LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) Americans. But neither will I close my ears to the voices of those who still need to be convinced. That is the work we must do to move forward together. It is difficult. It is challenging. And it is necessary."
