Churches try to bail former Prime Minister of Ukraine out
Three Christian denominations – the Baptists, the Orthodox (the Kievan Patriarchate), and the Roman Catholics – stated their perfects willingness to bail out the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko who arrested on August, 5. The court, however, denied the motion, reports The Christian Telegraph.
The relevant appeals from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kievan Patriarchate, the Roman Catholics Church and the Evangelical Christian-Baptists were brought before the court by the Tymoshenko’s attorney Yuri Suhov, reports RISU with the link to UNIAN. Her attorney said that the relevant appeal for bailing Tymoshenko out was prepared by Ukrainian Deputes.
Yulia Tymoshenko, in turn, announced that she will second the motion. “I have to thank all the holy fathers, and everyone, who signed this appeal. It is a great honor for me,” noted the former Prime Minister.
It was leaked out that the court refused to release Tymoshenko, thereby denying the requests of the three Christian denominations and Ukrainian deputies.
