Yesterday a tragedy of huge dimensions happened to Norway when a bomb explosion and an gun-attack against a youth camp left many people dead. More than 90 people have died, many of them young people. Mats Ols Ishoel presented his condolences to the Norwegian people on the web-site of World of Life Church.
“Yesterday I was in Oslo myself, not very far away from the site where the bomb exploded. I have been preaching at a conference and I and my family were on our way to a museum when the news started to reach us. Norway is a small and peaceful country, and what has happened has made a deep impression on the whole nation. Yesterday was probably the most dramatic day in Norway since the second world war. Many are struggling for their lives in the hospitals, many have lost friends or family members and people in general are shocked and deeply grieved.
On behalf of myself and Word of Life Moscow I want to express our sincere condolences to those involved and to the Norwegian people. When tragedy strikes, God is a refuge and comfort. When we are confused and shaken, we can always run to Him who knows all things and can help when others can not. Let us all pray for salvation, healing and comfort. Let us pray that fear will never rule neither Norway nor any other society.
Actions like this expose the darkest side of human actions and can never be justified by any motives. All groups in society must unanimous condemn what was done and show solidarity with each other in the struggle against evil. Today all good forces both national and international must stand together to protect the security, freedom and openness of our societies.”
