Indiana gov. will sign bill defunding Planned Parenthood
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels has put an end to speculation about whether or not he would sign a bill that would make Indiana the first state to defund the abortion giant Planned Parenthood, reports LifeSiteNews.com.
Pro-lifers were on pins and needles over the bill, which passed the House earlier this week, and the Senate on the 20th, due to past controversial remarks from Daniels calling for a “truce” on social issues such as abortion, in order to focus on other issues, like the economy.
The country has also been watching to see Daniels’ decision, due to the fact that he is a possible contender for the 2012 GOP ticket.
“I will sign HEA 1210 when it reaches my desk a week or so from now. I supported this bill from the outset, and the recent addition of language guarding against the spending of tax dollars to support abortions creates no reason to alter my position,” said Daniels.
