Rick Renner сelebrates church's first anniversary in Ukraine
The Kiev Good News Church celebrates it’s 1st anniversary on Saturday, March 15th at the "Congress Hall", in the city of Kiev, reports Christian Telegraph and Rick Renner Ministries.
Pastor Rick Renner says, “Its hard to believe it's already been one year since we started the church in Kiev, but it has been a wonderful and powerful year. The church has grown very fast, and the church is already very stable. We’re so grateful for everything we have seen the Lord do in the past 12 months and believe it is only the beginning of what the Lord will do in the years to come.”
The Kiev Good News Church has two services each Saturday that are attended by 1,200 regular attendees. Co-pastor, Pavel Stefoglo, says: “Every week we have 180 children in our children’s ministry, about 90 in our youth services, about 120 are active in our Golden Age, 400 women participate regularly in our women’s ministry, close to 75 people are really active in our worship ministry, 45 people serve faithfully as ushers, 50 students are studying in our seminary, many people are involved in our prayer ministry, and we just started our family ministry and home group ministry this week. If we count everyone who is serving in some capacity in the church, there are about 250 people serving in some capacity. We feel that’s a good beginning since it amounts to almost one half of the people who regularly attend our church.”
Pastor Rick Renner adds, “Our goal was to have 1,200 people in our church by the first anniversary, and we thank God that He enabled us to reach this goal. Just recently, we did a statistical analysis of our attendance, and there are actually about 2,500 people who are regularly coming to this church at least 2 times a month, but every week there are right at 1,200. My heart is just filled with thanksgiving to God. What is especially exciting is to see how many people have been saved during these past twelve months!”
At the anniversary celebration on March 15 there was a special album presentation of brand new music produced by the Good News Churches in Moscow and Kiev. In addition to the large team of musicians and singers in the Kiev church, a group of 50 musicians came from Moscow to take part in the church anniversary. Pavel Stefoglo says, “It was two powerful services filled with worship and the strong presence of God.”
As Christian Telegraph reported earlier, IN VICTORY Christian magazine and the Christian Telegraph news agency have jointly released a list of Christian leaders chosen because of their influence on Russian-speaking Christians throughout the world. Among them is Pastor Rick Renner. During the church celebration Sergey Velbovets the president of InVictory Media and Christian Telegraph presented the “Pastor of the Year” diploma to Rick Renner.
