Rally for Jesus holds Evangelical outreach in Philippines

Rally for Jesus a California-based born-again Christian ministry, is holding a three-day evangelical outreach sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ from Jan. 27-29, 2011, at Sunken Gardens, outside the maximum security prison of New Bilibid in Muntinlupa, Philippines, reports Dan Wooding, Founder of ASSIST Ministries. The outreach starts at 6 p.m. each evening.

Evangelist Kevin Walding, founder of www.RallyforJesus.com, is being joined by Pastor Brian McDaniel of Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa and Cross to Light Ministry. McDaniel will be a guest speaker the evening of Jan. 28.

Today (Jan. 27,) the event was opened with a special in-person greeting and welcome by the Honorable Mayor Aldrin L. San Pedro and Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac.

On video there were special messages “from the heart” by Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and “Mommie” Olga Robertson, veteran missionary to the Philippines.

Internationally known Christian singer Michael Sewell and the CTLI Children's Worship choir, along with Muntinlupa’s own Rock Life Unlimited band, are leading worship and praise.

Citing Psalm 20:5, which reads, “We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions,” Walding stated,

“We have formed a ministry to reach the poor in the community of Muntinlupa, Philippines, and the surrounding cities. This was done in response to God's call on our hearts.

“The Bible teaches that God has a special interest in the poor of this world and that He is no respecter of persons. We feel that those of us whom God has blessed should give and do what they can to help the poor. The greatest need of all of us, rich or poor, is to receive God's Son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose from the dead, and that we may receive Him as Lord and Savior and have eternal life.”

Pastors throughout the region are helping with the outreach and bringing people to hear about Jesus Christ.

In a pre-recorded message of encouragement, Smith says, “We extend a warm welcome for you to attend the outreach that we are planning here in your beautiful city of Muntinlupa. We are looking forward to a wonderful time of gathering together in worshipping the Lord and want you to be a part of it and see what God will do in the Philippines.”

“What a joy, what a blessing, for us to be able to share the love of God manifested in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

“Mommie Olga,” who is 85 years old and is of Lebanese decent, has been a missionary to the Philippines for more than 53 years. She has sent a warm greeting to all wishing she was with them this day.

Her ministry of sharing the love of Jesus Christ within New Bilibid maximum security prison was described in her book, “The Men in My Life.” By God's grace she has reached thousands of hardened criminals and gang members for the gospel and tells of these criminals being transformed by the love of Christ.

Pastor Allan Esses, founder of www.YesJesusIsLord.org, also supports this important outreach to the people of Muntinlupa.

“The heart of this team is to share the love of Jesus Christ and to give the wonderful people of Muntinlupa the opportunity to hear the gospel, so that by believing in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, God who came in the flesh, died and shed His blood on a cross for all our sins, was buried and was bodily raised from the dead, and by faith in Him alone they can have eternal life,” Esses said.

“This is a message of hope and love from our Lord to the people of the Philippines and to people all over the world. John 3:16 states, ‘For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.’”

Esses concluded his remarks with a request for people to pray for this outreach.
