Christians reach out as parts of Sri Lanka are under water again

Just drying out from early November flooding, parts of Sri Lanka are back under water as a second round of heavy rains rushed over the land, reports MNN.

A Gospel for Asia correspondent requests prayer for God's protection over the people in flooded areas. GFA's work has not been hindered in these areas, but there are pastors and believers there who need prayer.

"Due to heavy rain, most of the roads went under water, and the fallen trees obstructed the traffic," wrote the correspondent during the first round of flooding.

After the waters receded, continuous heavy rains started up again. A river flooded its banks, and seawater has started to seep into inhabited areas, displacing thousands of people.

GFA Compassion Services teams are in the area ministering to the people affected by the flooding.

"Please pray for the affected people in these areas, that the Lord will meet their needs," wrote the GFA correspondent.
