Phone-Calling ministry makes great difference in Russian church
Within the congregation of the Moscow Good News Church, there is a small group of dedicated women who are making a big difference in the lives of women who need encouragement and friendship, reports Christian Telegraph and Rick Renner Ministries. This outreach is known as the Heart to Heart Phone-Call Ministry, but these women do so much more than make phone calls. They are changing lives every time they pick up their phone to reach out to a new believer or new member of MGNC.
The Phone-Call Ministry began nearly five years ago as an extension of the Heart to Heart Women's Ministry of the Moscow Good News Church under the direction of Pastor Denise Renner, and this outreach continues to grow in numbers and effectiveness. This lively group of 30 women make approximately 400 phone calls a month and are currently focusing on reaching new believers. At MGNC, every woman who comes to the altar to accept Jesus as their Savior receives a phone call every week for the next three months from these sisters in Christ.
Besides encouraging these new believers, our phone-callers also pray with them and often befriend them, meeting to get acquainted over coffee or to sit together at church services. This phone-calling team of ladies becomes a stabilizing force in the lives of women who are newly saved. As a result, we've heard many wonderful testimonies regarding the impact the phone-callers have had on new believers' lives, including how God has used these ladies to help restore marriages, bring loved ones to Christ, believe for healed bodies, and meet desperate needs at every turn.
This team also meets together once a month under the leadership of Tanya Butseva for a time of fellowship, encouragement, and praise reports. Among these women, strong leaders are emerging as they continue in the Word of God, equipping themselves to strengthen and help other women and their families.
