Pro-family leader thanks MTV for exercising Media wisdom
Dr. Ted Baehr, the head of the Christian Film & Television Commission® and publisher of Movieguide®, a family guide to movies and entertainment, has issued a statement of thanks to MTV for choosing not to air the video of Gnarls Barkley’s new single “Run,” reports Dan Wooding, founder of ASSIST Ministries.
“I want to thank MTV for showing social responsibility and media wisdom for protecting viewers from moving images that cause epileptic seizures,” he said.
Dr. Baehr is the author of The Media-Wise Family, a book that discusses the effects of entertainment on children’s learning and behavior at different stages of growth.
“Now, MTV needs to show discernment about programming that causes moral seizures,” Dr. Baehr said. “As for Gnarls Barkley’s next video production attempt, Who’s Gonna Save My Soul, there’s a great opportunity to do it right the next time by taking a look at John 3:16 in the Bible.”
Dr. Ted Baehr, an award-winning producer and writer, is the chairman and founder of the Christian Film & Television Commission®, a non-profit ministry committed to educating the entertainment industry and the public about the media’s impact.
