Ministry in US feeling the sting of struggling economy

The economic hardship in the U.S. has not spared ministry.

Crossroad Bible Institute gladly announced that their 2007 revenue was the best year ever with a recorded 1.34 million dollars. This certainly covered the bills for the year, reports MNN.

However, the outlook for 2008 has not started out to be quite as optimistic. In their year-end fund raiser "No Inmate Left Behind," CBI came up with just $100,000. That's $400,000 short of their $500,000 goal.

Without a bridge in this gap, they may be forced to halt enrollment in their prison Bible Study program. Through the program, prisoners can complete Bible studies via mail, and through that, grow in their spiritual walk and strengthen their relationship with God. The possibility exists that current students will have to stop their studies due to lack of funding.
